Wow such a beautiful winters day today.
There is nothing like this sort day to lift the mood and invigorate the body. Now I am so motivated I do a bit pre spring cleaning. Tessa and I went for a lovely walk with the stroller, success! We were able to get much futher today than with the frontpack.
While cleaning out the office the other day I found this newpaper clipping.
IF I WERE TO RAISE MY CHILD AGAIN......
I'd build self esteem first and the house later
I'd finger paint more and point finger less
I would do less correcting and more connecting
I's take take my eyes off my watch and watch more with my eyes
I would care to know less and know to care more
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites
I'd stop playing serious and seriously play
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars
I'd do more hugging and less tugging
I'd see the oak trees in the acorn more often
I'd model less about the love of power and more about the power of love

What's in a name?
I've been thinking about names lately, well for awhile really since I became pregnant. We had many lists of possiblities, I wanted a name that was unique (coming from a class at school with six Rebecca's, this was important) but not too out there that it would cause unwanted attention. Whereas the soon to be Dad wanted a more traditional name that wasn't too weird and is easy to spell and pronounce. We both had very valid points so we compromised.
It's interesting how much you agonise and think a long time about deciding the perfect name for your bundle of joy. Don't get me wrong I love the name we chose for our daughter Tessa Iris. But it's funny how fast the cute nicknames start which are quite special, she is nearly 4 months old and the list of nicknames are as follows:
Sweet pea, Hun Bun, Hunny Bunny, Saus, Cuteness, Munchkin, Jellybean, Ratbag, Riggle monster, Darling, Little Angel, and of course Tiny Lovely. I bet every parent has a list just for a moment think about writing them down it will something good to look back on when they are older and make you want to tear your hair out.

Craft day
Today I made heaps of progress on my craft projects. I've found an awsome pattern for a cat soft toy in a magazine. It is made out of socks and is quite clever. I will post a photo when it is finished. The merino top I have been sewing for myself is very nearly finished just have to sew the sleeves in which can be a bit tricky so i decided to wait till the morning when there is better light. At some point I will need to get a better light in my sewing room.

New Blog
Well after reading so many different amazing blogs I thought it was time to join the movement. Hello interweb world here we are. In the depths of winter an outlet for my crafty projects, whims and ideals seemed appropriate.
A bit about myself. Mr lovely and I have just begun our lovely family with the arrival of miss tiny lovely Tessa after an ardous labour and birth. Her arrival on good friday is quite special and I hope she will have luck and happiness in her life.
As we are stuck inside mostly this winter and the garden that is calling to me has to be ignored, it has been a great chance for me to get back into my crafty goodness. This has been quite exciting as my creative side is unleashed again. Yay.
